Technology as a future educator.
Good morning, my fellow bloggers. Today is a topic discussion about using technology in the near future as an educator. Technology today is becoming popular in classrooms more and more every day. In an article written by Kelly Ni states that, "Using technology in the classroom is not just about getting devices into children’s hands. Technology to be used productively for learning and education, according to Michael Horn, author of “Disrupting Class, Expanded Edition: How Disruptive Innovation Will Change the Way the World Learns.” Horn was a panelist at a live-streamed panel meeting at MIT’s Media Lab in Cambridge, Mass., which was hosted by MSNBC Anchor Alex Witt and NBC special correspondent Chelsea Clinton. "
Training teachers to use technology in the class along with the students is a better way for a lesson because than your students would not just be clicking anything on the activity being used. You and the student will be learning at the same time. As a teacher, you should be able to know more then the student to make it a lot easier on you to explain to the students. From reading this Article, I loved reading about a former Chicago public school teacher. The teachers name is Lucy Gray. She is also an Apple distinguished educator, and a Google certified teacher, co-founded the Global Education Conference. The thing that stood out to me in the article was that Gray had talked to a teacher that allowed her students to talk to other students in South America. This allowed both classes to collaborate with a report from using Google Docs.
I reviewed the Google Docs website and I loved it. It allows students to collaborate with others around the world. You can go over PowerPoint's from a project and get another perspective about what else you need. You can basically do anything. As a future educator, I will definitely use technology in my classroom. Since I want to be a kindergarten teacher, I can't have the students write blogs and have a twitter account. They can use many other activities on the computer. An activity I would use in my classroom is ABC mouse. It allows students to learn about reading, math, art, colors and music. The best thing about this website it allows students to continue learning more at home. I want my students to have the best time in my classroom. I also want their parents to get involved. If they find any new type of technology that can be helpful to the classroom, I would be glad to discuss their ideas. "The children are our future, Technology is our future, let's help Educate a better technological society." Have a great day bloggers.

Best part about being a Kindergarten teacher.
Good evening everyone. Today's blog is going to be a little short today. As we all know I want to be a Kindergarten teacher. There are many different exciting things about a kindergarten classroom, but my favorite is decorating your classroom the way you want to. As a future educator. I want to be the teacher that sets up my classroom that expresses myself. Especially showing the kids how much fun my class would be. During holidays, especially Christmas, are the best days to have arts and crafts in the classrooms. For example, like the picture above. As a future teacher I thought this was a great classroom idea to set for a Christmas Holiday. Another great idea is arts and crafts like making turkey hand puppets for the students to do. It gets the students involved in working together and knowing how creative they can get.
I want to express myself throughout the classroom at every corner. A classroom should not be set up in a boring matter. It should be expressed as a fun and colorful warmth to the room. Like the picture below. I love the idea of how the classroom was set-up differently throughout the class. On that first day of class, I want to see my student's faces glow and light up with a huge smile and just say WOW! I want them to feel like they aren't in a classroom, but in a big playground.
Little things like this keeps your students smiling and always wanting to come back to class. Kids especially like to see their creations hanging on the classroom wall. I love to see the smiles on the students faces. It shows me that I am doing something right, as well as knowing that they are having fun in class. That's the best part of being a teacher in my eyes. Knowing that they are having fun in class and seeing how much fun they are having in class. All that happens depending on the teacher. I would want them to enjoy every little bit of activities we do in the classroom to make them come back to learn more. So for more great ideas on how to set up your classroom, please go to my Pinterest page. There are some really great ideas that can be used. I know I will be using some of those ideas. Have a great night my fellow bloggers.

Jeffrey "Fearless" Burns
Good afternoon, my lovely fellow bloggers. As we all know from my previous blogs, I am a softball player in college. Today's blog is getting a little personal once again. Let me tell you a little story how I met my best friend Jeffrey Burns, Jr. I was the new kid in middle school in the eighth grade. He was the very first student to randomly come up to me and introduced himself. Ever since then, we had became great friends. He showed me around the neighborhood, as well as introducing me to other students at the school. The great thing about my middle school was that we all went to the same high school and graduated together for the second time. I bring up this story today because softball season for me is coming up and he was and will be my number one fan. Back in high school, he supported me at all my games no matter where it was at.
Junior year, he had disappeared for awhile and we didn't know what happened to him. One night I finally got a hold of another friend, they said he was very ill. This is when I found out he was diagnosed with leukemia. Leukemia is a malignant progressive disease in which the bone marrow and other blood-forming organs produce increased numbers of immature or abnormal leukocytes. When I found out I was devastated. I didn't know what to do. He finally got better and everyone was so happy that he fought through it. We finally graduated from high school and everyone had went their separate ways for college. The month of May the year 2011, I found out the worse thing possible. He had passed away from leukemia. I was on my way to a softball and my mother called me and told me the news. I couldn't help but to cry. My fellow athletes wondered what was going on. I still played the softball game crying because I know he wouldn't want me to sit out. So I played. Until this day, I support him and cherish him at every softball game. It has been two years of his passing and I make sure I cherish every moment with all my friends and family because you may never know what could happen. So I shall say, you all should do the same. Have a great day my fellow bloggers.
REST IN PEACE JEFFREY BURNS. I LOVE YOU EVERY SINGLE DAY.

Going back to California for winter break
Good morning my fellow bloggers. For all you students that go to school out of state, it's almost about that time to go home for the holidays. I know I am very excited because being away from my family for six months is very hard. especially when I have a lot going on in my family at the moment. I know most of you guys have that one person you miss the most when you are gone for so long. In one of my blogs, I had posted about my grandma having breast cancer. She is the one I miss the most when I am gone for school. Family means nothing but the world to me. I love them with all my heart and I wouldn't be where I am at without them. Being so far away from them is hard, but I know they will always be there for me. Especially my grandmother. I spend the most time with her when I go back home for the holidays because of her conditions. I never know what could happen. you should spend time with every family member because you may never know what happens. I do not want to go all into detailed about winter break, but for all my bloggers that have never been to California I suggest you go because we have so much attractions for you to see. Bullying
Good morning my fellow bloggers. This past week I was assigned a presentation topic as a final exam project in my class. Going thru the process of finding information really had me interested and it became very emotional towards me. So today I want to discuss something that is very serious around the world in our schools. BULLYING!! I can seriously write more than ten pages about bullying. It is a big topic. So I am only going to talk about the importance of bullying. My definition of bullying is when someone is constantly picking on someone that they don't feel like they belong. from 2008-2009, there was a percentage rate of 28 students from grade 6-12 that were experiencing bullying. Also, in 2011 there was a percentage rate of 20 students from grade 9-12 that were experiencing bullying. Bullying is not just happening on our school grounds. There are actually three different types of bullying. One is verbal, for example name calling, teasing, taunting, and threatening to harm them. A second type of bullying is social bullying. Social bullying is when a bully tells other students to not be friends with that specific student, spreading rumors, and embarrassing that student in public. I can relate to this specific type of bullying because I did have this one girl on my softball team in college that tried to turn everyone against me and tell them lies about me. It is actually still going on in my last year playing, but this time the situation is different. She feels like a fool because the new athletes ignore her and are actually getting to know me. They like the person that I am. Before, all the other girls believed her and didn't want to get to know me one bit. But once a few of those girls did, they completely missed understood me. All I did was stay strong and stayed myself. And finally the last type of bullying is cyber bullying. Cyber bullying is bullying that takes place thru technology.
From the research I looked up, there are many ways to prevent bullying anywhere in your cities. A few ways to prevent bullying is that parents and teachers should have a huge role in encouraging their students to not be afraid to come talk to them as well as doing the things they love most in life. Since there is a lot to address please click here for more ways on how to prevent bullying. The final thing I would like to show you guys is this Bully video. This video broke my heart so much. Bullying stops here!! Today is the day you help someone that feels unwanted. Simply shake their hands or have a simple talk with them. Let them know they are not alone. As a whole, we can stop bullying! Everyone have a great day and remember let people know that they are not alone. Love you all!

Baby Marianna Jean Cancio
The greatest gift of all has yet to come. Three months from now I will be an aunt of my nineteen year old sisters baby. Words can't explain how excited I am. She is having a baby girl. Her name will be Marianna Jean Cancio. She is due January 15th, 2014. My sister and I are two sisters that are like best friends. As a future aunt of her baby girl I will spoil her like she is my own. The one thing that touched me the most was what my sister said to me. She says," as a future teacher, I want you to teach my daughter everything you learned in school. You are more successful than me and I know you will teach my daughter great things." This touched my heart so much. So as a future kindergarten teacher, I told my sister I will buy her books to read to her baby every night that involves big pictures. I also will teach my niece how to notice certain items by clapping or even laughing. All I can say is to future aunts out there is to be the best aunty you can and make the best of it. Show them things that your brother or sister can't. And love them like they are you own.

Breast Cancer Awarness Month
I am going to keep my blog nice and short for my bloggers today. writing this will definitely get me to tear up a little bit.
Last year in the winter, my whole life has changed for the rest of my life. My grandmother Brenda Diaz was diagnosed with breast cancer. I didn't know what that meant until i did research. It was one of the most common malignancies in women in the US. She was the first in our family to ever be diagnosed with it. She is my everything and i was scared for the worst to happen. She was a fighter and is still fighting strong. She lives life to the fullest and doesn't take anything for granted not one bit.I love how she spends everyday like nothing ever happened to her. My Grandmother is definitely what keeps me motivated to live life like it is my life and to not take anything for granted. I love her with all my heart and i am with her every step of the way through he process.
